William F. Glass, age 90, of Duncansville, formerly of Palm Beach County, FL, died Friday morning, September 29, 2017 at UPMC Altoona. Born November 6, 1926 in Altoona, a son of the late Thomas and Verna (Karlheim) Glass. He married Margaret S. Shannon, whom preceded him in death.
Survived by a son, Tim Glass of Duncansville; a daughter Rebecca Anderson of Lake Park, FL; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Don Glass of Altoona; and 2 sisters: Linda Baginski of CA and Kathy Bartley of AL.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Robert and James Glass and 2 sisters: Barbara Glass and Joan Peterson.
William was a graduate of Altoona High School and earned a Masters Degree from Penn State. He was a WWII Navy veteran, where he was in aviation. He was a electrical and civil engineer, working for many companies during his lifetime: RCA, United Technologies and Pratt-Whitney.
He enjoyed working on electronics and cars. He was a "fix-it-all" guy.
Friends will be received on Wed., Oct. 4, 2017 from 10am until Noon, immediately followed by a funeral service at Noon, all at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 4th Ave., Duncansville. Military Honors will be accorded by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard.
