William R Pounds

William R. ‘Bill’ Pounds, age 81, of Duncansville, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at UPMC Altoona. He was born February 4, 1944 in Altoona, son of the late Ralph D. Sr. and Catherine L. (Bell) Pounds. He married Barbara Ann (Conner) McCann on June 28, 1980 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Altoona.

Surviving is his wife; four children: Mike McCann, Michelle McCann, Lisa Pounds (Liza), and Jeffery Pounds; four grandchildren: Chelsea, Haley, Courtney, and Xander; five siblings: Nancy DesGerennes, Darlene Pounds, Kathie Baker (Bill), Judy Curry (Richard), Danny Pounds (Beverly), and Cindy Piotti (Brian); a sister-in-law, Judy Pounds; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Ralph Jr. and Victor.

Bill was a 1963 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a US Army Reserves veteran. He retired from F.L. Smithe Machine Co.

Bill was a member of Grace Fellowship Church, Leamersville. He previously enjoyed building and racing slot cars, racing micro-sprint cars, and watching sports that his family participated in.

Friends will be received on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 10am until the noon funeral service, with Military Honors, at Grace Fellowship Church, Leamersville. Pastor Mark Lingenfelter will officiate.
